UE-Update

UnderstandingE Update

Well where did that time go?

I was told just the other day that it had been a while since I had posted anything on this site, which is very true.

There is however a good reason for that.

UnderstandingE

For the past 6 months myself and Matthew Ogborne have been building a new business called UnderstandingE.  Which aims to bring multi-channel software to the masses by showing them:

1. Multi-Channel software doesn’t have to be restrictively expensive

2. How they can utilise the software to automate and innovate within there business.

If you want to find out more then please feel free to click on the UnderstandingE link above.

The reason for the silence here is quite simple really.  So much of my time is now spent creating content for UnderstandingE, not just recording the video tutorials for Magento & M2E Pro but also in writing the site content, blog posts and site pages etc.

A lot of the content that I would usually post here, now gets put as  a focus to the UnderstandingE blog.

Simply put, I do not currently have that much time to be able to update as much as I would like.  Hopefully this will change in the future but for now this is the way it has to be.

So if you want to find out some of the latest goings on not just for multi-channel, Magento or M2E Pro but most things eCommerce then do check out the UnderstandingE blog here: http://understandinge.com/blog/

Thanks

Dave

P.S.  I will be at the Internet Retailing Expo this Year on Wednesday 26th March 2014.  Will I see you there?

I-need-your-help

I really need your help!

For those of you that sell online especially the marketplaces such as eBay I really hope you have all had record-breaking Christmas sales so far this November/December.

As you will hopefully know by now, for the past 3 months myself and Matt Ogborne have been working on a new project called UnderstandingE.  We believe it will change the face of multi channel eCommerce.

UnderstandingE

Put simply we are going to show you how you can build your own Multi-Channel software to an enterprise level starting at as little as £16 a month.  The best part is, we are going to show you how to do this for FREE.  So rather than paying £200 – £500 or even £1000+ a month for multi channel software we have created a new way.  A way which is affordable for small businesses and feature rich for large businesses, and importantly which avoids commissions or a ‘Tax on Growth’ as we see it.

As I write this now there are just 22 days and 20 hours left until launch.  We are in a good position to really hit the ground running in January and we will have everything you will need to get started using the Third Generation (UnderstandingE.com) in place and ready for you to start using on the launch date. (1st January 2014)

I need your help

If at any point over the last few years I have brought you any value at all, either through this Website, Twitter, LinkedIn, Consultancy work, Conferences, Emails anywhere at all, then I would like you to do 1 of 2 things.  If you could do either of these that would be fantastic and you don’t have to worry about my Christmas present 🙂

1.  If you run your own e-commerce business, or want to run your own e-commerce business and haven’t done so already please can you go to this link here and Join UnderstandingE (Only if you want to save thousands of pounds a year on alternative software) http://understandinge.com/join/

2.  If the above doesn’t apply to you then the next best thing would be for you to forward this on to anyone who you know who does run, or work for a business that sells online.  Or alternatively share this post or UnderstandingE itself on the social networks that you think it would be most relevant to your followers, whether that be Twitter, LinkedIn or another.

What we are doing is opening up Multi-channel eCommerce software to the 99% of businesses who currently cannot afford or warrant spending what the other software providers are charging.  To do this we need to get the word out as much as we can.

If you could do one or even both of the points above then that would be amazing.

Have a great Christmas if I don’t speak to you before and a fantastic 2014.  It will certainly be an interesting one.

Many thanks again

Ecommerce-Expo-2013

Meet UnderstandingE at eCommerce Expo 2013 @ Olympia 2nd October

By now you’ll have heard quite a lot of buzz about UnderstandingE, we believe it’s going to put you back in control and change the world of eCommerce forever and we bet you’d like to know more and here’s your only chance before January.

This is something never done before, we have a clear vision and a single goal of what we are going to achieve and using the passion we have for eCommerce we truly believe that what we launch in January will be of benefit to soooo many online sellers like you.

Find Out What UnderstandingE is

Myself and Matt Ogborne will be making our first appearance as UnderstandingE at the eCommerce Expo next week.  We will only be there for a few hours on Weds 2nd October because of the epic challenge we have set ourselves between now and January 1st and need to get back the grindstones.

We are arranging a special meetup at one of the stands at 2:00pm.  This way we can get to share with you, the cool people, the business owners what exactly it is we are up to and how with your help, together we’re going to create something amazing.

So Which Stand?

To find out which stand we’ll loitering on at 2pm, pop your name & email on the UnderstandingE site here and we’ll let you know on Wednesday morning.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Dave & Matt

The Reason for the Silence – Changing eCommerce

It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog post.  In the time since the last post I managed to sneak off to the USA and Canada for nearly 3 weeks and also took part in the Color Run in Manchester and managed to raise £260 for Cancer Research UK.  I know this is of little interest to most of you, but it does account for me being a little quieter on here than normal.

The second part of the reason is much more interesting, and will be of  interest to most of you.  Most of my time since coming back from Canada has been spent on building something that has never been done before.  What we have been working on is something that should be of interest to anyone who currently sells on eBay, Amazon their own website or multi channel in general, or those who don’t currently but are thinking about selling online.  You may have noticed that I used the term ‘WE’ which means that I am not working on this alone.  Myself and one of the top UK eCommerce Experts have been working together on this project and it’s a big one.

As it stands right now I cannot give away any more details, but I am 100% confident you will hear about it within the next month.

So apologies for the radio silence, but please bear with me, if you sell online then trust me it will be worth it.

I'd-love-to-meet-you

I’d Love To Meet You At May’s Manchester Meet Ups

May is shaping up to be an incredibly busy month.  Being so busy with clients and also beginning to write the first draft for a book (More details in due course) means that the days are all rolling past quite quickly… It’s MAY already!  Hence why the blog has taken a bit of a back seat this past month. However, I am taking the opportunity on the 15 May to get down to Manchester Central for the E-commerce Expo, and hopefully get to meet face to face some of those who read the blog or who I talk to on Twitter etc.  These e-commerce events are brilliant networking events and I like to use them purely to get to chat with the cool people who run their own online businesses.

What is exciting for me however is that night I am going to make my way over to the Iwoca Meet Up event, or more formally The UK Online Seller Meetup.  I have threatened to make my way to these events plenty of times before, but unfortunately have never been able to make it.  So on the 15th May after the eCommerce Expo I will make my way to Didsbury for the meetup event.  If you are going to either event then let me know and we can have a chat in person.  If you want to register for the e-commerce event or find out more details about the meetup then I have included the details below.

e-Commerce Expo Manchester – http://www.ecom-manchester.co.uk/

Meetup – http://www.meetup.com/onlineselleruk/events/104241702/

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend, mine will mostly be spent behind the computer screen, but I hope to see you on the 15th.
