My Invitation to Unthink

This evening I received an invitation to join the Unthink social revolution as a BETA tester.  This is quite exciting as some of you will know I have been following Unthink since they first went public a few months ago, and you can see my earlier articles on Unthink, part 1 here, and part 2 here.

I feel quite lucky to be given a chance to get the first look at this and will post a more in depth review of what it is like in the next week or so.  Il hopefully get some pics up as well but I imagine there will be plenty circulating in the next few days.

unthink logoDue to the initial demand of the BETA invites the Unthink website is currently down due to demand and they are currently as I write this I am told buying up more server space to cope with the hits.  Having spoken toa couple of people who work for Unthink over in Tampa Florida this will hopefully be sorted in the next day or so.

I imagine there will be a function similar to Google+ for you to invite people to join, so if anyone would like an invite (if it turns out to be possible) just leave me a comment below and i’l hopefully see you in the social revolution.

Beware Fraudulent Websites and

I posted this post on another blog on Friday but felt that this needed as much exposure as possible so I am recreating it a bit here. There are a couple of dodgy sites that I have spotted which are offering iPhones and iPods at ridiculously cheap prices. The old saying “If something is too good to be true, then it probably is” applied to me here and I did a bit of digging to find out what was really going on.

The websites i’m talking about are and These websites are nothing to do with the company they claim to be and I strongly suggest not transacting on it.

Beware dodgy websitesI did a web WhoIs search which stated that the website was registered in China by a Chinese company yet the address they give on the website is a New York address…to be specific it is a parking garage in New York, which doesn’t seem a likely place for a genuine apple reseller.

The email addresses on the website does not work as I have attempted to contact them regarding using a company name illegally on their site and as yet have had no response. I am currently trying other avenues to get hold of those in charge of the site.

So please don’t fall for this scam, as chances are you will never receive the product and it will make a serious dent in your Christmas present budget

Bye for now

Funny But Disallowed eBay Feedback

This is a really short post, but sometimes the Internet gives you these little gifts and I logged onto an eBay account this morning and got treated to this little beauty in the eBay Feedback.  See below:

funny ebay feedback, SlagNow as you can tell by the predominant positive feedback they are a good seller but every now and again one lunatic slips through the net.  I was speaking to the manager mentioned above today about this, it turns out the buyer was upset because he failed to follow some basic instructions regarding his TV.  Which he signed a form stating he understood, and then decided to do the exact thing we had told him not to do and in the process he broke his new 50″ TV.  Disgruntled at his own stupidity, any psychologist will tell you pride is a powerful thing, and as such this poor gentleman decided that he was not at fault and as such it was the sellers fault he broke his TV.

A quick call to the brilliant eBay Account Manager soon got this removed as it breaches eBay’s feedback policy, which you can see here.  So this would be my top tip.  Keep an eye on your feedback, and know the eBay rules regarding this.  Any feedback which is inaccurate, abusive or has been left in error, let eBay know and get it removed.  You don’t want to risk losing any seller privileges through something that would have been avoidable.

The Two Books That Changed Everything For Me

There are a few things that happen in life which you will remember for a long long time, others will have an amazing impact on your life in ways which won’t show themselves until later on. For me two big examples of this I can put down to books. Two books that had such an effect on me that they changed my outlook on life and to a degree who I am as a person.

The first of these books is quite well known and I first read after my Dad recommended it to me when I was just 13. At the time I couldn’t take in all that this book had to offer but when I re-read it at about 17-18 years old, it taught me so much about how to deal with people. The book i’m talking about is the famous “How To Win Friends And Influence People” By Dale Carnegie.  This book is invaluable for anyone who has to talk to people as part of their jobs but more than that it teaches you so much human psychology and their feeling of importance.  I re-read this book usually at least a couple of times a year to keep the theories fresh in my mind and trying to force them into habits.  In my opinion this book teaches more about Human nature and how to talk to people much more than any school class ever could.  In my Britain this book would be part of every schools curriculum.  Click here for more information about How To Win Friends And Influence People.

Dale Carnegie - How to Win FriendsThe second book that changed my way of looking at life but more importantly work I stumbled upon much later in life but it had just as big an effect as Dale Carnegie’s masterpiece above.  This book is “The 4 Hour Work Week” By Tim Ferriss.  He opens up a whole new world of work possibilities, shows you how Time is equal to if not more important than money, and what you can do with this new lease of live can be remarkable and in some instances unbelievable.  What stuck out to me though is he doesn’t promise to tell you the ‘secrets’ to this lifestyle but more importantly tells you how it can be achieved and throughout the book invites you to take steps to embrace this lifestyle.  I have the paperback, the kindle version and the audio book, and i have read/listened to each version at least once and each time I pick up something else out of his writing.  Once again you can find out more this fantastic book here: The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape the 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich

the 4 hour work week So they are my two favourite books that have made me who I am today.  I have created a page “Dave’s Bookshelf” which you can find here, where you can find other books I have read and strongly recommend.  There are only a few there at the minute but I will be adding more there shortly.

I have shared with you my two favourite books and now I want your help. I am looking for books that YOU would recommend, books that have changed your outlook on life or which have helped you in any way at all be who you are today.  I’d love to hear from you and find out what else is out there.  Please leave any recommendations in the comments below.

I look forward to hearing from you
